You know what's next.
Last year I got married. December 14th, 2013 will forever be the day I married Mr. Brent Johnson and the only person on earth that perfectly accepts my irreversible flaws. The man of all mans.
Exactly 6 months and 5 days earlier, I gained the most amazing baby nephew, Nixon Joseph Breyer. He's now walking fastly, "talking" loudly, and eating enormous amounts of organic (aka natural, plain and boring) foods. Nixon has the curliest hair, just like his momma, but it's blonde like his dad. He's the best mix of Julia and Greg. Oh! & he is the most stylish person I know.
Speaking of new additions, in April we rescued the newest member of the J family and his name is Boomer, Boom Boom, Booms, No! He is a black lab mix and our white tile is forever going to be different shades of grey. Sophie, our other brilliant Shih Tzu, Yorkie Poodle mix, loves Boom most of the time. Shih no longer gets dropped off at Grandma's house for the day while Brent and I are at work. Shih stays at home with her new bigger than her little brother Boomy. Together they sleep the day away in puppy harmony.
I'm on my last year of my Masters program (+ PPS Credential + LPCC License). I've never been so exhausted in my life. I've learned more about myself in these past years than I did in the quarter of century I lived prior. I guess if I don't build a career with my counseling degree and/or credential and/or license, I at least had the pleasure of really meeting and getting to know me. I'm alright!
Mr. Brent man earned a promotion at his work and he is currently striving for even bigger and better things. More details later. He truly and continually proves to be the most amazing man I've ever known. We've been together here and there for 9 years and I look forward to our future of chaotic life.
Last, but not least, of all this newness... we bought a house! We actually did this first, no second. Masters program, House, Nixon, Marriage, Boom.... What's next? You know what's next. ;)

... but it does
It's cold in the room, but it's warm under all of her knit blankies. He breathes deep and heavy besides her. It's the hard breathe of a long and challenging days work. As most week days are; he's a laborer. He works hard so he sleeps hard. She lay awake for a few long moments. All she can hear are his snores and the constant click of the fast circling fan. Why is the fan on? He likes to be cold when he sleeps. Suddenly she can feel it, a sweet happy emotion covering her like another soft blanket. Love. She can smells it. It sends swirling winds through her insides. She quickly wraps her arms around her stomach and pulls her knees towards her chest. She turns on her side and now she can see it. He's so peaceful in his dreams. How did she find this? She really didn't think it existed before... but it does.

Green Christmas
Last night was the family Christmas party at Aunt Melissa & Uncle John's; where we drank egg nog, took tequila shots, ate turkey, mashed potatoes & opened our secret Santa presents. Tyson (the Hartman boxer) gave Sophie another Christmas squeaky toy, which she loved for 15 minutes until she chewed it to pieces. We drove home with my parents after the party. I sat in the middle back and watched my Dadds dinosaurs dance all the way down Hwy 74. Now on Christmas morning I read my friends blogs and blog myself while Brent makes my favorite breakfast, avocado, tomato and cheese omelets. We also are listening to christmas music, party favorites and 90's music (e.g. Britany Spears), interchangeably. I love Christmas time.
Christmas Eve!

I'll be home for Christmas
Just got to the desert for Christmas. Brent is in the kitchen marinating a couple steaks and I'm enjoying the fire he made and my new beanie that Aunt Lorri made me. Life is nice. I love the holidays. I love Mr. Brent.
Christmas Lights and Paint
Tonight I took Sophie for a long walk along the beach and found the most beautifully Christmas lit house! Then I painted Linda (boss) and Susan (co-worker) presents for Christmas.
Linda loves birds and bold, bright colors. This will sort of match all her Laurel Burch pieces.
And Susan and I have this little joke we say whenever we are tired of work and ready to go home... We say "Let's go to the beach!" So I painted her a beach scene on her letter.
