Green Christmas
Last night was the family Christmas party at Aunt Melissa & Uncle John's; where we drank egg nog, took tequila shots, ate turkey, mashed potatoes & opened our secret Santa presents. Tyson (the Hartman boxer) gave Sophie another Christmas squeaky toy, which she loved for 15 minutes until she chewed it to pieces. We drove home with my parents after the party. I sat in the middle back and watched my Dadds dinosaurs dance all the way down Hwy 74. Now on Christmas morning I read my friends blogs and blog myself while Brent makes my favorite breakfast, avocado, tomato and cheese omelets. We also are listening to christmas music, party favorites and 90's music (e.g. Britany Spears), interchangeably. I love Christmas time.
Christmas Eve!

I'll be home for Christmas
Just got to the desert for Christmas. Brent is in the kitchen marinating a couple steaks and I'm enjoying the fire he made and my new beanie that Aunt Lorri made me. Life is nice. I love the holidays. I love Mr. Brent.
Christmas Lights and Paint
Tonight I took Sophie for a long walk along the beach and found the most beautifully Christmas lit house! Then I painted Linda (boss) and Susan (co-worker) presents for Christmas.
Linda loves birds and bold, bright colors. This will sort of match all her Laurel Burch pieces.
And Susan and I have this little joke we say whenever we are tired of work and ready to go home... We say "Let's go to the beach!" So I painted her a beach scene on her letter.

The Regal
Today was a good bad day. I talked to my boss and she is happy to change my work schedule strictly to Tuesday's and Thursday. Therefore, I am officially moving in with my sister in Menifee. Which means her made of honor will be around all the time to help her plan her wedding. I can't wait! The hard part was telling my roommate that I am moving out at the end of January. She said "it's fine", but her closed door says differently... she never hides in her room, normally that's my job. I know she will be fine, I just hate being the cause of stress in any ones life. There is just no avoiding the fact that this is the best decision for me right now (in every way). At least I have my regal little pup where ever I go. She is my smile.

Today was a day.
Today didn't feel like a day.
Or did it? It is that time and she is waking up to a horrible back pain and sore joints. She lifts her legs off the bed, they feel so heavy. Waking up is just so hard some times. After a moments pause she finally gains some control over her body and makes her way to the couch where she finds him. He's a morning person. He greets her with a "G'mornin" and an "I love you". She is not a morning person. She groans "I love you too". He smiles. Silent for a few moments, he asks her, "Is today not a good day, should we just hang around the apartment." She doesn't think so, "some exercise sounds good..... maybe some coffee with a walk along the beach?" She knows this is not his favorite thing to do, but it sounds so nice right now. He agrees though, as he usually does.
The weather is perfect today. The wind feels soft against her face. Their puppy Sophie is so happy. She calls her the happiest dog in the world today. She runs free... nearly. She runs in circles around them making it almost impossible to drink their venti coffees and keep steady ground at the same time. She asks, "Sophie annoys you sometimes, doesn't she?" He says, "no". She continues with, "she makes me smile." The walk is long, but it doesn't seem that way. There are many people around. Other dogs walking their people, like Sophie walks her. Push ups and runners. A pregnant woman working on her and her babies health. Maybe a homeless man, that says, "hello" to her. Older couples hand in hand. Younger couples hand in hand. She looks at him, he's smoking a cigarette, seeming as there isn't a care in the world. She looks at Sophie, running till her leash pulls, then running stronger. She smiles, she's full, she's happy.
